I don’t have to tell you how cold it is out there because you already know! I will, however, share a photo I took amid the storm that is letting me get the extra relaxation I need. Stage West's costumes take centre stage with latest production about the evolution of the boy band

Grab your best vintage boy band wear and buckle up for a joyride through the ages with Stage West's Step By Step: The Evolution of the Greatest Boy Bands until Feb. 4. This show isn't just about the tunes; it's a costume cavalcade that'll make your boy band heart skip a beat.

Imagine the ‘60s, when The Beatles had fans swooning as the first boy band of the phenom that took over the world. Fast-forward to today, and boy bands are still making waves with their killer looks. Get ready for a fashion fiesta as the show takes you through the style evolution of boy bands from then until now.

Krista Sylvester spoke with the team behind the costumes stealing the Stage West show, and they dig into the looks that audiences only have a few more weeks to see for themselves.

Warm up while having fun at these Calgary faves

Even if you enjoy being snowed in, it’s still nice to get out and enjoy some of what the city has to offer despite the freezing temperatures. Here are a few ways to get out and have some fun while staying warm.

The Science Centre: Check out the city’s science centre for its regular programming, its special events, or for adult-night after hours. There’s lots going on this month and you can still catch the digital immersion gallery’s Goodnight Moon.

High Performance Rodeo: The 38th One Yellow Rabbit’s annual High Performance Rodeo is bringing more than 235 artists to 15 venues as it kicks off Chinook Blast, which we will talk about in an upcoming newsletter.

Flames/Wranglers/Hitmen games: For the sports fans, you can’t go wrong with a game from one of the city’s big hockey teams. Sure you have to brave the cold to get there, but it heats up when you’re in the stands cheering your team on.
